Desperate, I was just like so many couples that show up in my office. It required humility to acknowledge that I had a problem and that what I was doing was not working. Gratefully, that cowboy showed me how to hold the reigns and the "motivator" so that Big Steve would actually stay on the trail and keep up with the pack.
I wish I could report that by the time the trip was over I was fearless. After all, God answered my prayer in that both Big Steve and I made it back in one piece. However, I have never been so glad for an ordeal to end as I was when we finally dismounted at the top.
Even though I have learned that fear is not my enemy, fortunately I get to choose which friends to invite to dinner, and Big Steve is no longer on the preferred list! Being gentle with my fears is easier as I remember that transformation is a process rather than an event. I learned that I don’t have to go the distance alone. I want to encourage you, that no matter how difficult your trail, neither do you.
Until next time, Blessings ~ Deb
